history narrative project

Our final project being a history narrative was an interesting twist. I like that each project is different and this one kind of reminds me of a history project. My group chose the Young Republic Era and it is harder than I thought. We chose a topic in the era to write on and I got Articles of Confederation. I am glad we got to go to the library to start the project off. Being in the library was good because I have never actually gotten a book from there, so having to find one was good practice. Along with finding a book, it was nice to get a jump- start on the project. I hope it goes well and turns out good in the end.

Thanksgiving break

Hope everyone had an amazing break! Mine was super good and I can’t believe how fast the semester is going. I did my black Friday shopping online which was the better choice I think haha. I also went to one of my favorite restaurants – Mimi’s Café. Along with spending time with family in friends it was good to be home. With only a couple weeks left its crazy we still have another project to do but I’m excited to see what it is. On that note I have to get going on my articles but I enjoy the project. Initiation!

This weekend was so good! Can’t believe thanksgiving is this week and I can’t wait to go home tomorrow. I went out Thursday and last night but the best part of the weekend was initiation for my sorority! I am officially a member of Pi Beta Phi and couldn’t be happier. The weekend was full of memories ill never forget. Yesterday was family day and my mom and dad surprised me by bringing my friend Lauren along. That was awesome and I’m glad she got to come with. We tried Burdick’s and while I was not really a fan, the restaurant is a nice place. We took a picture with a huge Santa after, downtown Kalamazoo is decorated so cute for Christmas!

Genre

Happy Friday! Class on Thursday was very helpful. The genre project had me confused at first but after comparing Twilight to Vampire Diaries and doing our first two examples in class helped me along. While I was not able to take articles out of a magazine, practicing with website examples was still helpful. I thought the project would be easy because I picked gossip articles. All of the genres take a level of thinking from what I saw my classmates writing down. Writing a paper on how to write a genre is a cool idea. I like this project because it is totally different from the last two projects.

Can’t believe Thanksgiving is next week!

This weekend three of my closest friends came to visit me. I was super excited because I miss them a lot and love hanging/ going out with them. We tried Bilbo’s because everyone says how good it is and its super cheap. The restaurant is pretty cool and our waiter was awesome. We had cheesy sticks for an appetizer, which was really good. My pizza sandwich I tried was tasty too. We went out after and overall it was a really good weekend. I miss them a lot but know they’ll always be there for me.
